Packwood of Hardingstone

ORIGINS OF THE PACKWOOD SURNAME

The surname Packwood probably originates from the village of the same name in Warwickshire. The National Trust owns a fine Elizabethan mansion in the parish called Packwood House. However at some time in the past, a members of the family migrated to Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire. In 17th century there is evidence of branches at Hardingstone, Cottesbrooke and Ravensthorpe in Northamptonshire and Dean in Bedfordshire.

The families and persons below relate to the branch in Hardingstone, Northamptonshire.  The data has been contributed by Bob Packwood.
